The Rich History Behind The Great Gorge Golf Club
Originally built and opened in 1970 by Hugh Hefner, the Great Gorge Golf Club served as the exclusive golf course for The Great Gorge Playboy Club & Resort. This exclusive Vernon location was one of prestige and honor, attracting some of the biggest names in entertainment.
The Playboy brand eventually closed the resort and changed hands a few times before eventually being closed to the public. The golf course, however, has lived on! Despite the changes over the years, the Great Gorge Golf Club remains a treasured gem for the golf community.

1Club is where friendly competition meets high-energy entertainment . Often called “the pickleball of golf”, 1Club is a fresh, social take on golf. Played with one club and a larger ball, it’s fun and simple enough so anyone can play.
A full round takes about two hours, being easy, social, and exciting, making it the perfect golf experience for both non-golfers and golfers. Ideal for a night out with friends, date nights, birthday parties, team outings, or any other social gatherings.

Always a pleasure playing one of the 9 holes. I been playing at Gorge since mid 90’s and must say the past few years the course has been in fantastic shape. Best part is Gorge always supports the youths, Military & all 1st Responders, many I know go there for that reason. Keep up the great work 👍
