The Quarry Course

The Quarry Course is where the game gets a little more hands-on.

It trades the wide-open views of the other nines for tight, winding fairways cut directly into the rugged, exposed stone that gave Great Gorge its name in the first place.

Where Every Swing Has a View

Sharp angles, exposed stone, and a bit of history

If you like courses that make you think your way from tee to green, the Quarry Course is your match. This layout brings you right through the old mining roots that gave Great Gorge its name in the first place. It is easily the most demanding nine on the property, trading wide-open spaces for tight angles, dramatic rock backdrops, and holes that require absolute commitment before you pull a club.

The Layout: Hole-by-Hole

Hole1

The Short Handshake

A quick, isolated par 3 right out of the gate to test your iron play before you even get warm. No time to ease into the round—hit the green or find yourself scrambling out of the sand early.

Hole2

The Granite Climb

A long, sweeping dogleg that hugs the upper ridge line. Keep your tee shot left of the fairway bunker to give yourself a clean look down the hill toward a heavily protected green.

Hole3

The Wall

The signature hole of the entire property. This par 3 is a long, nerve‑wracking forced carry over water to a green. Pick the right club, commit to the swing, and ignore the rocks.

Hole4

The Narrow Chute

A short, downhill par 4 that requires discipline. The fairway is up against a wall at the end of the landing zone, so leaving the driver in the bag for a long iron or hybrid is usually the smartest play to avoid running out of room.

Hole5

The Pocket Green

A clever par 4 that doglegs slightly to the right, wrapping around a water hazard tucked along the right flank. With no front bunkers guarding the putting surface, players enjoy an open run-up to the green.

Hole6

The Island Pocket

A beautiful but dangerous par 3. You are hitting across a large lake to a green that sits like a peninsula on the edge of the water. Check the wind before you swing — there is no safety net here.

Hole7

The Lower Trench

Running along the southern edge of the map, this par 4 is flanked by water along the entire left side. A straight, low ball flight keeps you safe from the breeze and puts you in position to attack the pin.

Hole8

The Gauntlet Back

Heading back west, this long par 4 features a wide‑open fairway that slowly pinches as you approach the green, with water tracking the entire left side of your second shot.

Hole9

The Clubhouse Chute

A strong, uphill finish that tracks right and back toward the clubhouse, with water only a concern back to the left of the tee box. Keep your final approach shot clear of any trouble to close out your round with a clean par.
