The Lake Course

Water, hills, and a bit of a chess match.

Some courses are built for mindlessly blasting it off the tee. The Lake Course isn’t one of them. It’s a bit more clever than that.

Water meets the Valley.

Where Every Swing Has a View

Lowlands, high stakes, and the winding Black Creek.

Spread across the lowest, most dramatic contours of the property, this layout is a captivating game of contrasts. It begins with a breathtaking, picturesque opening tee shot that looks out over the vast expanse of Vernon Valley, before plunging you into a journey that winds directly along the edges of Black Creek. Moving from the highest peaks down into the water-rich lowlands, the course rewards clever management and precise, creative shot-making over pure muscle.

The Layout: Hole-by-Hole

Hole1

The Valley Overlook

Start your round on a high note. This opening par 5 offers a sprawling, panoramic vista of Vernon Valley from the tee. The fairway sweeps downward, inviting a bold drive, though a strategically placed bunker on the left demands precision.

Hole2

The Creek’s Path

As you descend into the valley, Black Creek is only a distant thought, sitting safely to the right of the tee box. Don't let the lack of water fool you, though, this remains a highly difficult hole. You will need a precise tee shot and a sharp approach to navigate the lone right-side bunker and conquer this challenging layout.

Hole3

The Crescent Bend

A sweeping hole that hugs a massive, swampy marshland along the right side. While the swamp is almost always out of play, precision remains key—favor the left fairway to secure a clean angle into the green and keep your scorecard clean.

Hole4

The Quiet Drop

A short, secluded par 3 tucked at the easternmost point of the property. With water hugging the entire left side, it’s a pure test of nerve and club selection, with shifting valley winds adding to the challenge.

Hole5

The Peninsula Route

Running along the southern boundary, this straight par 4 is flanked by water on both sides. A pure, straight drive is essential before attacking the green, which lies entirely open in the front.

Hole6

The Island Spine

A stunning hole that offers a unique test off the tee. With water hugging the left side early on and a swampy marshland running up the right, success depends on disciplined placement and a controlled approach to the green.

Hole7

The Double Down

Heading back toward the northern ridges, this hole features a fairway divided by tactical bunkers. Avoid the sand off the tee to earn a clear, inviting shot into a receptive green.

Hole8

The Guarded Gem

A par 3 that demands total respect. While it features no water hazards, it remains a stiff test with a wide green heavily fortified by bunkers on both the front and back edges.

Hole9

The Final Ascent

A spectacular finishing hole that climbs back up the property’s dramatic elevation. Two powerful, accurate shots are required to reach a green nestled into the hillside — a rewarding end to a tactical round.
